FPL Review | Gameweek 27
A disappointing Gameweek 27 saw the Golden Boys succumb to a 2-0 defeat against West Ham at London Stadium.
Goals from Javier Hernández (7 points) and Marco Arnautovic (8) in either proved to be the difference as no Hornet scored more than two points. Aaron Cresswell (11) also impressed for the hosts with an assist and clean sheet, and James Collins (9) grabbed all three bonus points.
With no gameweek next week due to the FA Cup, Gameweek 28 provides the opportunity for players to come back from injury, so be wary before confirming your transfers early on.
The Hornets will look to bounce back with home fixtures against Everton and West Brom to follow, and Richarlison (£6.1) alongside new signing Gerard Deulofeu (£6.0) could be the key to Fantasy points.
Elsewhere, Sergio Agüero (21) was the standout Fantasy player of the week, scoring four goals as Manchester City thumped Leicester 5-1 at the Etihad stadium. The Argentinian has already been transferred into more than 72,000 teams since Saturday already, but with tough fixtures, Champions League and cup competitions to be played and the imminent return of Gabriel Jesus, Fantasy managers should be careful of following the trend.
Eden Hazard (16) was the star man for Chelsea with a brace as they comfortably saw off West Brom at Stamford Bridge, while the form of Mo Salah (15) showed no signs of stopping with another goal and assist at Southampton.
Low-ownership players also fared well in the week, with Huddersfield’s Steve Mounié (15) and Alex Pritchard (12) heavily involved in the goals as they saw off Bournemouth 4-1.
Oumar Niasse (12) provided a goal and an assist as Everton beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Goodison Park.
Martin Dúbravka (9) was the pick of the keepers as Newcastle held firm to beat Manchester United, and the new signing could be a regular in the Newcastle goal.
Ed Marchant stormed to the top of the Watford global league, with an outstanding 113 points in the week. In fact, 4 players in the top 10 broke the 100 point mark, with Sam Ansell the pick of the bunch with 115 points.
Congratulations if you made the top 10 this week!
Tip of the week
Use other sources to assist you when making decisions on transfers. For example, there are websites that show a summary of all teams’ fixtures as well as a guide on difficulty so you don’t need to click on teams individually.
Another example includes a price rise predictor, where they track when a player is about to fall or increase in price. This is particularly useful to judge the best time to buy and sell a player and take advantage of any price changes that comes with it.
Players To Watch
1) Jamie Vardy (Leicester City, £8.6) has scored in his last 4 games in the Premier League, and will look to add to his tally with back-to-back home fixtures against Stoke and Bournemouth to be played.
2) Son Heung-min (Tottenham, £8.1) remains an interesting differential option. With Spurs having finished a particularly difficult run of games, the South Korean will look to get back on the scoresheet having cemented his place in the starting XI.
3) Loris Karius (Liverpool, £4.8) has replaced Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal having started in the last five gameweeks. He is unlikely to lose his spot after impressive performances, and at £4.8, is outstanding value for a keeper in the top 6.
Best of luck for Gameweek 28, FPL managers!
