Trust: ‘Super Movers’ Surprise For Schoolchildren

Local primary school pupils were treated to a day to remember thanks to the Premier League and Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust.

The morning of Wednesday June 20 saw the Premier League Trophy make a special visit to The Redding’s Primary and Nursery School in Hemel Hempstead after they were selected at random from entries into a Super Movers competition.

Super Movers is a campaign run by the Premier League and the BBC, encouraging children to be active to enhance their learning. The Trust’s community staff use Super Movers to supplement their local Premier League Primary Stars delivery in local schools’.

The pupils at Redding’s not only got the chance to see the Premier League Trophy close-up but they also took part in an interactive assembly led by the Premier League and supported by Trust coaches, in which pupils were up on their feet and showing off their ‘Super Moves’. Schoolchildren then got involved in a series of classroom and physical activity sessions delivered by the Trust.

The Redding’s Primary and Nursery School won this amazing opportunity after their Year 3 age group entered a Super Movers competition by sending a photo of their class joining in with some of the Super Movers online resources.

The day didn’t finish there though, as the trophy headed to Watford FC’s training ground in London Colney. There it was joined by youngsters from Shenley Primary School and London Colney Primary and Nursery School.

The afternoon comprised of a selection of workshops in the media suite, a tour of the training ground and a Premier League Primary Stars practical session delivered by the Trust.
